WR Eric Deslauriers (Gatineau native, played university football at Eastern Michigan):
First-round draft choice by Montreal in 2006, seventh overall...Was
invited to training by the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers...Had 23 receptions
for the Alouettes in 2007 for 325 yards and a score...Had 12 receptions
in 2008 for 89 yards.
OL Ibrahim Khan (Ottawa native, played university football at Simon Fraser University):
Played minor football for the Gloucester Dukes...won the J.P. Metras
Trophy as the top CIS lineman in 2003...One of only three Canadians to
participate in the East-West Shrine Game in 2004...First round draft
pick (second overall) of the Ottawa renegades in 2004...Used sparingly
by clueless coaching staff during his Ottawa tenure...Acquired by
Winnipeg following the suspension of the Ottawa franchise...Selected to represent the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the league's CFL PRO marketing program...Has worked as the University of Manitoba's strength and conditioning coach.
WR Djems Kouamé (Ottawa native, played university football the University of Montreal): Born in Montreal but moved to Ottawa at the age of two...attended St. Patrick's high school...Played four years at the U. of Montreal (2007 - 2010)...was selected in the 3rd round of the 2011 college draft (18th overall) by Toronto.
OL Scott Mitchell (Ottawa native, played university football at Rice): Played high school football at St. Mark...A 4-year starter at Rice...Selected 2nd overall in the 2011 college draft by Edmonton.
DE Justin Phillips (Ottawa native, played university football at Wilfrid Laurier): Gathered 21 tackles and 7.5 sacks for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks in 2006, earning OUA all-star status that year as well as CIS second team All-Canadian recognition...First-round draft choice (fifth overall) of the Calgary Stampeders in 2007...Had five defensive and one special teams tackle in his rookie season, six defensive and 14 special teams tackles in 2008...Expanded role in 2009 led to 13 defensive tackles, 15 special teams tackles and a sack...Contributed an additional 14 special teams tackles in 2010.
P Mike Renaud (Ottawa native, played university football at Concordia): Two-time All-Canadian while at Concordia...Played in Germany from 2006 to 2008...Attended training camp with Calgary in 2009 but became Winnipeg's regular punter after being acquired by them in a trade.
DL/LS Kevin Scott (Ottawa native, played university football at Queen's): Played local amateur football with the Kanata Knights and Ottawa Norsemen...Played professionally with Saskatchewan during the 2008 and 2009 seasons...Signed by Hamilton in June of 2011.
