Established in 1960 and holders of four National championship the Ottawa Sooners are the oldest junior team in the Ottawa area.  After a stint in the Quebec Junior Football League, in which they won two championships, they returne dto the Ontario Conference in 2009 to compete on the National level.

The Gloucester Redskins entered a team in the junior ge group in 1995 but changed their names to Jr Riders following the termination of the Ottawa Rough Riders.  They have since been a power in the Quebec Junior Football League earning seven crowns in eleven seasons of competition in that league.

The Cumberland Panthers joined the junior ranks in 2004, also competing in the QJFL.
