"...The fifth-year Ottawa pivot was near perfect for the Gee-Gees.  (He) Connected on 16 of his 18 attempts for 275 yards and three touchdowns.  On the ground, Coté was his typically elusive self scampering for another 91 yards and two TD's." -- CIS Almanac

This is where it gets confusing as hell if you haven't been watching this stuff for the last decade or so.
Different sources list the following games below under different names.  Football New Brunswick, for example, lists the 2000 win over McMaster as a Churchill Bowl game, whereas cisport.ca lists it as a Mitchell Bowl contest.  One would think that it should be fairly clear!
'Fraid not.  Both games are essentially a Vanier Cup semi-final.  However, the best way to describe the cause for the confusion is one I've lifted from this site
"By convention the semi-final held in the westernmost location is known as the Churchill Bowl, while the bowl in the easternmost lcoation is known as the Mitchell Bowl".
So it's a matter of location.  Got it.  To make sure that it the info made sense, I compared Vanier Cup appearances to the games below.  You can't make it to the Vanier without winning one of the games.
But then it got worse.  I couldn't find a semi-final victory for 1997 which would have sent the Gee-Gees to that year's Vanier Cup game.  Argh!
Again, cisport.ca bailed me out.  I had totally forgotten, not being so 'into" University ball at the time, that the 1997 Gee-Gees did in fact play in a Mitchell Bowl that year.  It was a fantastic game in the snow at Frank Clair stadium, which made me think that perhaps I should start watching this stuff.  Especially in light of the recent demise of the Rough Riders.
However, the U. of Ottawa was found to have used ineligible players, and so the post-season victory has been stricken from the records.  Officially, it's a 1-0 Waterloo win, but for the sake of record-keeping, I've added the score below.
I'm entering all this as much as a reminder to myself as anything, and I hope that clears up what seems like conflicting information on this page.  The results are taken from cisport.ca and would therefore be official.
